So you’ve bought your first Chanel and now it’s time to bring her home. But before you rip that pretty little box open and start to wear your new beauty there’s a few things to keep in mind. I’m going to tell you a few things that I do to ensure my WOC lasts the tests of time and stays looking brand new.
They wrap it up all pretty for you, so pay extra attention to every step as you open up the box. This way you can repeat the steps in reverse when you want to put your bag away. I like to keep my woc in it’s box whenever I’m not using it, that way I don’t have to worry about it getting damaged or lost. This might sound silly but whenever I forget to put something away in its box I somehow end up misplacing it. So this is just an extra pre-caution on my part. No need to tie the ribbon in a pretty bow every time. That is unless you want to.
The wallet on chain does not come with a dustbag. I know, ridic, but that’s the reality of it. However it does come with a long flat piece of felt. This should be sufficient enough to wrap the woc when not in use. There is also a piece of felt placed in between the front flap and rest of the wallet. I just put one folded piece of tissue in the bag to keep it’s shape, wrap it in the tissue and felt and put it in the box. That’s all you really need to do to keep it stored away, and it doesn’t take too much time or effort. Simple enough to do at the end of the night even when you’re plastered. I don’t know about you, but I’m the type of drunk that likes to take care of people and clean, so putting my bag and jewelry away is almost like a fun activity for me. Okay maybe I’m just a special case.
Also a very important step not to miss: make sure you fold the tissue so that it is wedged in between the chain and the actual purse itself. I’ve read that the chain can rub against the purse and cause some damage. When you open your box for the first time you will see that the SA (sales associate) has wrapped it in a way that you can duplicate it and ensure there will be no rubbing.
Inside there are many slots to hold your credit cards, a zippered pocket for change, a place for your cash and then the main compartment. I am able to fit my Iphone, a lipstick, q tips and a key or two. Remember this is a “wallet on chain”. Don’t expect to hold too much in this. Also don’t try to over stuff it because you may end up deforming the shape of the bag.
The cool thing about the WOC is that you can wear it in so many different ways, depending on what you’re doing and how you want to hold it. You can double strap it for more of a classy evening look, you can shorten and single strap it (my personal favourite) for a sophisticated look, you can tuck the chain in and wear it as a clutch or wear it as a cross body bag when you want to be hands free. The WOC is so versatile and is great for when you don’t want to lug a big bag around and just want to carry the essentials. The classic wallet on chain is a great choice because it’s never going to go out of style and will last you a lifetime. Have fun with your new purchase I know I will!
